Cosmetic Acupuncture

What is Cosmetic Acupuncture?
Cosmetic Acupuncture is a non-surgical method of reducing signs of the aging process. Cosmetic Acupuncture, often referred to as an Acupuncture Facelift or Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, is much more than just a cosmetic procedure. It is a technique that revitalizes and rejuvenates from the inside-out, correcting any underlying imbalances in the whole person.Cosmetic Acupuncture treatment is based on principles of Asian Medicine and involves the insertion of hair-thin needles into particular areas of the body along energy meridians. Specific points are chosen to manipulate the movement of energy in the body according to each persons's needs.
How does it work?
The acupuncture stimulation brings more blood and nutrients to the treated areas. By doing so, it improves collagen production and muscle tone to lift the face.
What do the treatment involve?
Your treatment will begin with an assessment and review of your health history on the first visit. An individualized treatment plan will be designed to improve not only your skin health and contour, but your overall health as well.
A course of treatment is between 10-12 sessions. Each session is 90 minutes, starting with whole body acupuncture, with focus on the face, and finishing with rejuvenating facial massage. Best results are achieved when the treatment is performed 1-2 times per week. Visible differences will be noticeable within 6-7 sessions. Maintenance sessions can prolong results, and are recommended once per month.
Is it painful?
Cosmetic Acupuncture is virtually pain-free. While tiny, hair-thin, disposable needles are inserted the face and body, you may feel a momentary sting or tingling sensation. This is followed by a complete sense of relaxation.

Does it really make a difference?
A medical study in the International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture (1996) reported that among 300 cases treated with Facial Cosmetic Acupuncture, 90% had marked effects with just one course of treatment. The effects included:
